The State of the Facial Nation Pt. 1
Back in the day, facial sites were different than they are now. They weren’t as episodic or reality-centric as the sites that have come along the past couple of years. Take a tour of almost any new facial site and you’ll see a big thumbnail image of a girl, cock in mouth or in hand, along with a bunch of text describing her episode and a few smaller pictures. Same shit, different colours.
Every new site looks like this, and its almost impossible to tell which ones are good and which ones suck (Hint: most of them suck). We can thank the reality TV show craze (mostly sucks) and Bang Bus (doesn’t suck) for this trend. People tend to like to watch other “normal” people in extreme, bizarre or embarrassing situations – which does make the concept appealing. Its the finished product that most producers have trouble with. BTW, in using “normal” in respect to “facials”, I mean average looking girls as opposed to pornstars.
If today’s flood of new sites is like the influx of reality shows on television – it isn’t all bad. At least you get to see what’s new right from the outset and, when done well, they can be very entertaining. Most of the time, the content in these “reality-based” sites is exclusive (meaning the site producers film it themselves), but its kind of like watching 100 different television programmes that are all based off the same script. Exciting at first, it soon becomes routine, then ultimately boring.
In my opinion “High Concept” doesn’t work well with porn, due to the fact that 90% of the porn producers out there are either unimaginative, brain dead, junkies or all of the above. As well, the amount of content these sites have can be limited, mostly due to the fact that they update on a weekly schedule. It takes a long time to build up a decent library at that pace. One way they get around the lack of content is by releasing a number of different sites simulataneously – sites which are mostly outsourced (boo! hiss!). You can generally pick these sites out by their pig-English descriptions and generic, somewhat-scared looking Euro girls.
There are excellent examples of reality based sites – its not all mindless, re-hashed porn. The best example (by far) would be the BangBros Network of sites. BangBros also produce my current favourite site Public Invasion – which only reads like one of those aforementioned outsourced sites. Its actually made by a crazed European dude, hence the twisted English. BangBros (arguably) has the greatest collection of all-original online porn available. The girls are stunning, and the sites are all very high-quality and infused with personality and humour – two increasingly rare commoditites these days. Bang Bros also produce the original Bang Bus – the site which kicked off the reality porn craze. They lead – others copy.
Another excellent example of an episodic site is Facial Abuse – another site with great personality and humour. Facial Abuse will appeal more to your dark side, whereas the BangBros sites are more upbeat. Despite its theme of rough blowjobs and gagging, Facial Abuse is actually hilarious (in a twisted sort of way), and you’ll be staring at your monitor in disbelief at what these dumb girls happily subject themselves to. Facial Abuse membership also includes access to their other three cum and facial sites (none of them are outsourced, either) – which are all as equally sick / funny as the original.

When The Facial Shrine started in June 1998, there was only a small handful of facial cumshot specific sites on the net. One thing about the old sites that wasn’t pure crap was their concept. Instead of updating weekly with a single episode of a single girl, these sites added everything under the sun. If you signed up for a facial site, you also got access to lesbians, fat babes, amateurs, stockings, etc. At the time, the quality of this content was lousy due to technological restrictions, but today’s versions don’t have those problems; and often offer better than DVD quality movies of topics ranging from ass fucked grannies to wet teen panties to voyeur porn to hairy gay bears – and lots of facials and cumshots (The movies have to end somehow. No matter what the script calls for in a porn movie, the producers never have to fret over how to end it. Just have some guy blow his load and Voila! There’s your ending. Works every time).
Sites of this type are known as “Megasites”, as they are generally all-encompassing. With new style sites, if you want lesbians – you join a lesbian site. Have a hankering for some sexy legs in stockings? Join a stockings site, chum. With a megasite like Facials Fever, all those niches are covered. No matter what you want, if its legal – its in there.
